coma not diaplayed in formula bar!!

    Hi members,
This is my silly doubt but very badly needed.I am not getting the diaplay of coma's in the formula bar .

For eg: 100,100,100 or say 122,234,222

In the above case ie. when the coma falls in the 1000 th separater place, excel treats it as a single number(Which i dont want).I want it to be displayed as 100,100,100 only and not as 100100100 in the formula bar.

I dont want to change the format to "text" .Please suggest some other method so that the coma is displayed for above similar cases.
(I am writing a macro for already entered datas in which above cases appeared. So i cant change the format now to text because even in that case, the coma is dispapearing).

    TIA

    Regards

Perhaps http://www.cpearson.com/excel/values.htm will help to explain that numbers are stored in a format to suit Excel, but displayed in a cell in the format requested for that cell.
