    Word to Excel

Hi...Following on from earlier dud post.

I have a word document in which is a list 200 lines vertically long. On each
line is a heading. I need to get these headings to populate line 1 of a
spreadsheet 200 columns wide. Any clever boffins out there who can do this?

    Desperate!!!

    Gordon,
    It's 200 now ?
As Harold explained, in Excel it would make a bit difference if you talking
about more or less than 256 columns.

How are your "columns" in Word defined ?

    Re: Word to Excel

    Hi Nick...

No, still original number but I didn't want to put people off and get over
the first hurdle. Nothing defines the word list other than that the list
begins on line 1 and ends on line 200...so something that says...

Line one in Word to cell A1 in Excel, line Two in Word to cell B1 in Excel

    Thanks...any help would be fab...

    Hi Gordon,

    Copy theWord headings
Paste the copied data to (say) A2 of the required worksheet
    Edit Copy
Select the first cell of the header row, e,g, A1
    Edit PasteSpecial | Transpose
    Delete the data in A2:A201

    Norman
