A pivot table would be an easy way to do this. Give your column of data a
heading at the top, select all the data, then select Pivot Table and Pivot
Chart Report from the Data menu. Drag/add your field to the Row fields area
and also to the Data items area. By default, the pivot table should give you
a count of each entry.
