    Web Query

    Hello

My friend set up a web query in Excel 2000, and it runs fine on his
machine, and downloads a specific table. When I try to run the same
query on my machine (Excel 97, Win 98), it downloads the whole web
page, not just the table. In fact, any web query I try to set up seems
    to download the whole page.

I'm new to the Web Query aspect of Excel, and am obviously doing
something wrong, but none of the research I've done on this seems to
    help.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    regards

    DaveU

Excel97 is very limited with web queries in the features it can perform.
There is a big development gap between 97 and 2000, not only with Excel, but
    with web sites also.

    Re: Web Query

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your reply.

Despite the limitations you mention, surely it should perform better
than it does for me. I just downloaded Microsoft's Web Connectivity
Kit for Excel 97, and according to the examples they include, it looks
like it should be able to do what I'm expecting. Unfortunately, the
URLs are out of date, so I can't actually test the examples. Oh well,
    more research . . .

    regards,
