How to force Excel to NOT update hyperlink paths?

    Hello -

I am copying hyperlinks from one workbook to another and it seems like
Excel always updates the paths in the hyperlink. I intentionally only
use relative paths for the files I link to and every time I save the
workbook into a different location it will update those paths.

Is there a way to stop Excel from doing that?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Best I can think of is:

Don't copy the hyperlink. Use the information in the existing hyperlink to
    build a new hyperlink.
