ambiguous selection

When I go into excel, VB, and then hit F1, I get Ambiguous selecton instead
of the proper help function. How do I fix this? I tried repairing and
uninstalling and reinstalling excel but nothing worked

you must highlight the word for which you want help and then hit F1
