click on cell it goes to formula location??

i have never seen this or anythign like this...
my workbook has 8 sheets "sheet 2-8" are fine
when you double click on a cell with an equation the equation comes up and
    you can edit it.

on sheet 1 however, when you double click on a cell with an equation it
    takes you to the cell
example: sheet1!A1 "=sheet4!b2", when you double click on the cell it takes
    you to sheet4!b2

    any ideas

    thanks in advance

If their value is produced by a linking formula linked to the source data,
you can go into tools=>options, edit mode and unselect Edit directly in a
cell. Then if you double click on the cell, you will be taken to the cell
it is linked to. No coding required. Editing is then done in the formula
    bar.

This is Tom's post from a few minutes ago... Tom is so efficinent he even
answers questions before they are asked... ;-)
