Can Excel interact with other Windows functions

    Can Excel interact with other Windows functions

    Is there anyway of programming Excel to interact with functions of Windows
    that are independant to Excel?

    For example the volume control or printer monitor (or any other things in
    the task bar and/or start menu)?

    Yes, you have to find and declare the Windows API function that does what
    you want. In VBa, this is done pretty much like VB6
