    calculate remains in status bar

    Hi,

    Environment: XL2002, WIN XP

Action: Copy some sheets from a source book into a new book,
for distribution purpose (with VBA or manually, it doesn't matter)

Problem: After the procedure is done, the "Calculate" remains in statusbar,
even when I close the source book and the copy book and no book is active.

What's the reason for that behaviour?

    Thanks for your support.
    Werner

Has it for some reason turn off automatic calculation? (tools > options > calculation)

    Maybe you need to include:-
    Application.Calculation = xlAutomatic

Check Tools | Options... | Calculation tab. Either Calculation mode is
    Manual or Iteration is enabled.

The Calculate message may remain in the status bar when you enter formulas
    that include cell references

    Thanks Tushar and Tom,
I guess that I exceed the limit of some 65,536 dependencies to unique
references by copying the sheets including the formula to a new book.

    Best Regards
