Call Schedule Program in Excel

Is this possible....?

I am a radiology resident newly in charge of creating our call schedule. There are about 36 residents I need to schedule, taking into consideration that by federal law, everyone must have one day off in 7, cannot be on back-to-back call, etc. Additionally, there are all of the vacations and meetings which eliminate certain dates as potential calls. And it would be nice to easily see how many calls a certain physician is scheduled for--to keep things equitable.

Now I am an Excel novice, but I figure there must be a way to populate an Excel based calendar with a database of residents using certain formula functions to satisfy the above criteria.

What you are asking is actually quite complex. It is not the sort of question that a forum can answer for you quickly. You should seek someone out who is an advanced Excel user and programmer to help with this project. If you don't know anyone like this, I would be willing to help you for a fee.
