    Hello Tracie,

The Invoice template is designed not to update the invoice number by 1 each time the template is opened. There are sound bookkepping reasons not to. The template will increment the invoice number automatically on opening once the invoice has been saved. Where is the problem?

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

    more info

I should state that this is not the prefab invoice. I have a template saved, I need to (regardless of bookkeeping procedures) to have a cell to increase a value by 1 upon open...Then the template will be saved with the new value, completed and again saved as a separate file...

I think that will work for me I was just need some basic help, I am new to this.

    Hello Tracie,

Could you email me a copy of workbook and template you are using? I can't tell you how to make the changes without some reference material. You can email at LeithRoss@aol.com.

    Thanks,
    Leith Ross
