Basic Macro to Choose a Cell

I need some guidance. I think it should be pretty basic. I want to attach a macro to a button on an excel spreadsheet. Attaching the macro isn't the issue, how to get the macro to do what I want is the issue.

Here is what I need the button to do. The user hits the "Choose" button. The user is taken to a different sheet that basically lists an inventory of items. Once there, the user can navigate up and down the list to find the item he is looking for. Once the correct inventory item is found, the user hits the enter key and the contents in this inventory cell is populated back into the sheet the "Choose" button was on.

That is pretty much it. It is almost like a lookup function. I tried just recording the macro, but the user needs the flexibility to move up and down through the inventory to find the item he needs. All of the inventory is just kept on a different sheet in the workbook. Please let me know if this doesn't make sense. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

    Hello Mhaddon,

The simplest approach would be to add a second button on the inventory worksheet. If the user selects the wrong item, it can be changed. Without the button, the selection is made right or wrong. If space is an issue, then perhaps you may want to use a custom toolbar. You can do it the way you describe, however, the drawbacks are it is more complex to do, and provides both you and the user with less flexibilty.

    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross
