Question Excel 2000: Protecting sheet but allowing format changes & page breaks

I have a worksheet where I need to protect and hide formulas, but I want the user to be able to format cells, hide rows/columns and insert page breaks. I know excel 2003 lets you do this but is there a work around for excel 2000. I'd use excel 2003 but my spreadsheet is used by others and there's no guarantee they'll be using the most recent version of excel.

    Any advice would be helpful.

    Hi

If your formulas are cells allowed to change, you will need to make a macro. Other wise, just protect your formulas (Format/Cells/Protection/Locked) and then protect your sheet (Tools/Protect Sheet)

    Hope this Helps

    Jose Luis,

I don't want the users to change the formulas, but there are other items they may want to be able to format. For example, they may want to add a calculation in a blank cell, which they can do when the cell is not locked. But they can't modify the number format, or make the font bold...etc. Is there a work around for this in excel 2000?
