Trying to set comment to Cell value

I want to set the comment to the value of a cell. However when I try to do
this I keep getting an error.

I've tried
ActiveCell.AddComment.ShtRef.Value and
ActiveCell.AddComment.Range("A1").Value and
ActiveCell.AddComment.Cells(R1 - 68, CurMth)
Any ideas
