How to transform standard format into a short date format (french excel) with a condition?

    Good morning to the community

I would like to insert a new column at the right of the column H? I would like to apply a short date format (for example 01/04/2024) by taking data from the column H. I want to apply the first day of the month every time as condition.

    Can you do this?

    Thank you a lot.

Could you show us what your expected outcome looks like?
I can only see one row with anything that looks similar to a date. Do you want the date just for that one row, or all rows above it, or something else?

A larger sample dataset, with expected outcome, could be useful to provide you with a solution.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like this for all the rows.
But with the month and year evolving with the data which are written in column H.

This will work on the sample provided and give the expected results.
It may not work perfectly on real data depending on the content in column H. With such a small sample it's impossible to know.

Re: How to transform standard format into a short date format (french excel) with a condit

It is working except for specific cases like this:

    01/24 expenses
    04-05/2024 Geor
    03-04/2024 ARR
    09/24 AD Cam
    09/24 BO Lu

I would like to select 05/2024 and 04/2024 for specific cases 04-05/2024 and 03-04/2024 and fill these specific result in yellow.

And that is EXACTLY why I said a larger sample dataset would be useful for us to provide you with a solution.
What's the point in showing just one scenario when you need several scenarios to be taken into account?

And now you've told us about the different scenarios but not provided us with an example of your expected outcomes.

I'm going to back away from this now as there are plenty of other people that need help that are prepared to explain what they need.
I hope you find a solution.

Thank you for your feedback BadlySpelledBuoy. I can't share a larger sample dataset with several scenarios for personal reason.

I close this thread because it's solved the main part of the problem.
