    Out of Memory

    I have an old Excel workbook with a lot of formulas. it's been running really slow, but it finally has locked up. I went in using safe mode, but most of hte sheets are hidden. when I was unhiding the sheets I get a popup saying out of memory. Is this a computer issue? Is this a memory leak? Any insight in what's going on? I'm trying to split the workbook into three different workbooks to get the size or whatever down, but I don't know how to do it if I don't have enough memory to have all the worksheets visible.

    I don't think I can post it here, it has a lot of corporate internal data. This is a recovery operation, I can't get the workbook stable, is there a way to turn off all calculations? In safemode I couldnt unhide the worksheets.

    I got four or five worksheets over to a new workbook, and now it's stable. It's not the PC Memory, what Memory is excel using? Is there a way to expand the resources for Excel? what in the world?

    Not stable at all, basket case. is there a problem with older workbooks operability with the new versions of excel? they seem to get corrupted, and i'll have to copy the worksheets into new workbooks and they work fine.
