I opened another workbook from this site and it created a phantom workbook in my project

I had a sheet: sheet4(main) with many macros stored and referenced by sheet4. ""

after opening a workbook from this site to help a person out, that same sheet is now named sheet41.(main)

The references in my workbook are all broken (easy enough to fix with find & replace) but now I'm left with a "phantom workbook named "sheet4".

I've attached a screenshot of my project explorer to give you a better understanding.

The properties of sheet4 are nearly identical to This Workbook in my project explorer.

Please help me get rid of this phantom workbook.

Help the rest of us out by providing the URL of the offending workbook. No one wants to affected by a troublesome workbook.

    Thanks.

Good point. Offending workbook URL below:

    https://www.excelforum.com/excel-pro...one-sheet.html

I don't think that the user intended anything malicious; it's a bug on Excel's end.

If anyone runs into a similar issue, this solution worked very well for me:

(Thank you Ricardo Diaz from superuser.com)!!

"This is an old question but same happened to me in a large project.

But this is what I did to solve it:

Use Rubberduck tools to export the project's code into a folder
Save the file to xlsx format (no macros)
    Close and reopen the file
Import all code to the project (you can drag and drop classes and non worksheets/workbooks modules, for the latter you may copy paste the code)
    Save it as xlsm (macro-enabled)
    Close and reopen the file"
