Hello,
I came across an interesting VBA code in a website regarding How To Vlookup And Return Background Color Along With The Lookup Value. You can google it to see the website.
I wonder is it possible to do it with sumifs formula?

I wouldn't have thought so. The lookup is returning one value whereas a SUMIF is summing a range. Which background colour would you expect it to return?

I have a problem with returning a value from three different columns. Each column represents different status. So, I need a way to differentiate which column I get the value from, and a distinct color on each column seems the easiest way for me. Well, it seems impossible right now.
Do you want to add up cells that have a particular background colour? If you have column headings with the name of the status, you can do this in a standard formula. Post an example workbook to show what you need and I'm sure someone will help you - your original post and follow-up posts do not describe your requirements.

Colour isn’t data so you can't use that to differentiate. If you have Status column, why not use that?
Why not attach a sample showing what you want as per they yellow banner
Your formula that returns the value can possibly be tweaked to be a conditional format to shade the cell. Obviously the value is unique to one column otherwise what colour would you choose it is.
