Lightbulb Timer to count duration of macro seems wrong

I am currently using this piece of code to calculate the duration of my macro:

    But this timer seems off.
Because when I run my macro, I am seeing a Windows spinning wheel for several seconds
but at the end the debugger shows it only took about 1.28 seconds...

Here I found the Timer code:

Anyone an idea what might be wrong here? Many thanks in advance!

Think you'd need to tell us what your macro actually does, that is, all the code … ideally with data to check it on.

Re: Timer to count duration of macro seems wrong

    I think I found it.

I made a button in the Quick Access Bar of Excel which starts my macro (which is in an external macro file).
So when I am in a 'regular' Excel file, I can click this button to start my Macro which does some things to it.
Loading this external macro file appears to take quite long. After the macro file is finally opened, everything goes pretty fast.

Is there something I can do to make loading the external file via a button faster?
