Color for cells causing raising size of workbook

    Hi Guys,

i am working on tool and everywhere i am changing cells color for #0A6683 (some kind of dark green, turqouis).

The issue is that workbook is getting bigger and bigger while i am coloring worksheets.
    How to avoid this?

    How to do this?

I do not want to have just white standard view...

    Best,
    Jacek

well of course it's bigger! color is content. content is consumption. consumption is space. space is size. thus, the file grows. unless I'm mistaken. why? do you think it's growing out of control?

Overuse of colour is usually a mistake in my opinion. Formatting entire rows and columns is generally a lot more efficient than formatting discrete blocks of cells.

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with programming though.

why? I just finished work for someone who had literally everything highlighted throughout 5 different workbooks and each book had like 400 records in it

Because it goes against pretty much every design principle. Colour should be used sparingly to highlight important things. A workbook is not a colouring book for a 4 year old.

LOL. obviously I agree, but that wasn't the point. is there any other reason? like, it takes up too much resource?

Vba_php what workbook size was after changes?

    Formatting entire rows and columns
it is more efficient way to color cells?
I am just clicking on top corner, selecting all cells and chosing format. Am i doing this wrongly?

That should be fine and should make very little difference to the file size.
