cell.ClearContents works, but not immediate

I have a small "status" window on a sheet that does a bunch of database operations.
When the user starts the sequence of operations I want to clear old status, so I do .ClearContents on that cell.

It works fine, but the results is not immediately shown. Until some other operation posts a new status message, the old status stays visible.

Seems like I need some sort of: name("status").ClearContents.Refresh

How to do this?
