VBA save to sharepoint library failed

I have this code that's working for 5+ years, it stopped working today and I cant figure out why. I found a work around, if i mapped "http://sharepoint/sites/IT/test/" and drive letter x, and ask it to save to x, it works fine. The solution is acceptable, but I want to know why this is happening.

Nothing to do with VBA. Likely cause, would be security/protocol change on the server housing SharePoint.

May be IT/Network Admin implemented TLS and it's been updated to 1.2 (current standard) from 1.0/1.

Or some other change took place recently.
