I would like to import ribbons on EXCEL via the exported.ui file, but somehow windows 10 has the standard program to open the via notepad. This is hampering the import of the ribbons (functionality). Is there any way I can change it back to it's default format? and if yes, how?
Why do the file associations matter? It doesn't affect the import process.

Well, somehow the macro buttons are not active and not working, the security settings are also set to let all macros work.
They were working fine yesterday.
The file associations wouldn't affect that. Apart from anything else, the file is only used once at the time of import.
Are there any other things I can check to see as in why they are not working?
Are any of the imported customisations enabled?
All macros enabled.
In the code windows they work.
it seems the link and associations to the buttons are not working.
I do, however see that the personal.xls tab is not listed in the VBA window.
However the file is in the correct folder.
Does the personal macro workbook appear in the list of Disabled Items in the Manage add-ins dialog?
where do I find this option to check?
If this is in the VBA CODE window, the personal.xls file only appears after I open it via double click on it in the xlstart folder.
