    Xmas holiday period adjustment.

    Hi Everyone,

Am new here and I will be great-full if someone can help me with the formula or macro on this.

We have tasks assigned to each department with the due date. The tasks have been distributed in the order that they need to be completed. This is done so that each department completes the tasks in the specified time.

Each project has different stock supplied date and if for example, supplied date is 20/Feb then most of the tasks fall into Xmas period between 21/Dec/2019 to 10/Jan/2020. Is it possible for someone to do a formula or macro that all the dates falling in between Xmas holiday period automatically moved before that and keep same number of days difference between the tasks.

Please see some examples in picture.

I have had conditional formating on column to highlight dates between 19-Dec to 10-Jan and that worked fine. If I change delivery date it will highlight Xmas holiday period. No other holidays need to be considered.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Xmas holiday period adjustment.

    Welcome to the forum.

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one and nobody wants to have to recreate your data from scratch.

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired results are also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

    Thanks.

I have read and looked, and looked and read ...

I am not really quite sure what you are asking for here, but are you aware of the NETWORKDAYS.INTL function? With it you can determine a working period based on start and end dates with customised weekends and holidays.

    Have a look here: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...8-4e925bfd5e28

    and here:

    Hi AliGW,

    Thanks for your reply.

I don't want to calculate working days. If you enter 10/Feb/2020 in column I40 you will see that I22 to I31 highlighted.

Now is it possible that the highlighted tasks should not be between 19/Dec/2019 to 11/Jan/2020. If the tasks comes in between these days it should automatically be moved before 19/Dec/2019 and not only highlighted tasks, accordingly all other tasks due date moved back.

Am sorry I was unable to explain properly and I hope this is more clear now.

    Many thanks,
