Office 365 and Office Online permit coauthoring of workbooks via sharing a OneDrive link. Anyone who is editing the workbook is visible as an icon on the right side of the menu bar. Clicking about reveals who is editing, what they are editing, and who was (but is no longer) editing.
Are there VBA objects, properties and methods for retrieving this same information?
Background:
I am a board member of a large not-for-profit amateur athletic organization that hosts regional, national and international competitions. To manage the competitions, we use WiFi-connected tablets running shared collaborative Excel worksheets on OneDrive. Because the competitions are spread out over multiple locations with lots of mobile and stationary sources of interference, WiFi strength fluctuates. Sometimes the signal disappears entirely.
When this occurs, we need to know who is disconnected and thus unwittingly making changes to a now-unshared workbook. The active editor list is passively available via the coathoring icons, but we need proactive alerts for both the disconnected user and the rest of the competition management team.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
