Adding digital signature to macros and VBA

Hi Guys,

i was looking for solution to find the best way to add digital signature to workbook macros.
And i failed.

How to do it propely? Goal is to see if anybody has changed my code after final version ...?

It is possible at all?

Hi,

i saw these links. and this is not working. This is why i asked here...

I added signature to sample workbook and you can not edit it if you want to leave signature untouched. this is ok.

When i am trying to sign VBA module, there is:

Ok i added signature using this link:

But...nothing changed. I turned on option :

File-> Options-> Trust Center-> Trust Center Settings…-> Macro Settings-> option: Notifications for digitally signed macros, all other macros disabled

How to track if any changes are done by other users to my code?
What if other users will have security set to low?

How to track if any changes are done by other users to my code?

From what I understand about Digital Certificates ... you won't know. There is no "auto notification" built in.
Again, from my understanding, the Digital Certificate doesn't protect your work ... it merely provides a formal notice
to the user they can trust your code will not do harm to their machine.

You question implies you are seeking a form of protection for your code - to "hide it" or prevent others from accessing the code for their own use ?
If this is the goal, understand that Excel is not designed to be very secure in that manner. In fact, Excel truly has no protection. There are tons
of examples on the internet how to by-pass Excel's built-in security. And for the commercial products that charge hundreds of dollars for a product
that advertises security and protection .... there are examples on the internet how to circumvent those protections as well.

Hmm this is not good that Excel is not secure at all. You can add only password and this is easy to break...
