    Postcode check and return of value in column title and cell adjacent to postcode

    Hi all

    I have a workbook which contains postcodes that lay within a radius of sites. Line A contains the column titles and each cell below contains the postcode and to the right of that cell the mileage from the site. I need to create either a macro or formula driven request in Sheet 2 where a postcode can be entered and if it exists within Sheet1 the output is the column name and the mileage. I really do not know where to start on this one!

    Apologies that it is a blank canvas to work from - this is only part of the workbook as one site has 92k postcodes associated to it!

    One option:

    In the VBA Editor (accessed by pressing Alt-F11), double-click on Sheet2 (or whatever sheet will be used to type in the codes) in the Project Window. Place this code there:

    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    If the sheet with codes is not named "Sheet1" then adjust the code accordingly.

    I have followed your instructions but the Macro does not appear in the list although it is influencing Sheet 1 as all selected!

    Big TP, my code would be in the Sheet2 module, then when you type a value in Sheet2 column A, it should output your results in columns B and C. I did test it before posting... but can put it in a workbook in case there was confusion. However, you can also download Jindon's book, he is a master.
