How to remove the data validated 'Arrow' that shows up when clicking the combo box list?

Once you have created your combo box based on a data validated list; how can you permanently remove or hide the data validated list arrow that always shows up in the data validatation box next to (or slightly behind) the combo box when you click on the combo box to view your list?

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is based on the below code. I'm using Excel 2016.

    Please attach your file.

The method you are using--creating a cell with data validation with a list, then using code to create a combobox using that same list--is unique IME. I also don't know why you need the combobox at all. So any question about that technique is going to require some analysis of what you are doing before we can answer it.

You cannot remove the dropdown arrow that is displayed when you select a cell with data validation using a list, unless you remove the data validation.

If you are creating a combobox that sits on top of that cell, you should never see the arrow anyway because that cell can no longer be selected.

So it's not clear what is really going on in your sheet.

The code is a bit "clever" and I don't have time to analyze it just by reading it, but it might be quick to watch it execute in your file and then see the results.

Please find attached a basic copy of the excel worksheet that I'm working with, with example data and notes.

If someone could take a look please and help fix the final issues I'm still encountering

    Thank you.

I am not going to deal with a site I've never heard of. It is more convenient to attach your file right here.

The paper clip icon does not work for attachments. Instead, under the text box where you type your reply click the Go Advanced button. On the next screen scroll down and click on Manage Attachments, which will show a pop-up window to Select and Upload a file. Then close the window.

The zip file upload fails every time with an 'upload error' when going 'advanced' (which is also within the size limit), hence the above link.

(We Transfer is quite a popular and reputable known site used across the world by many people, it's never given me any trouble. If you know of an alternative working method, please do let me know.)

    Thanks!

When you add the data validation, there is an option that says "In cell dropdown". Just uncheck it.

Well that's helpful to know. Thank you... (only, 3 more issues to solve now...)
