Lap time simulator

Hello all,

I would like to build a lap time simulator for formula student cars in excel, and I am an idiot and its for my finals at Uni and of course I only just start it now, I don't know anything about excel programming, I am going through the training materials listed, but if anyone would give me advice, help me start it, help me do it, or have anything that is already working and could explain it to me, that would be terrific.

May be start from some reading? Being final year student, you are probably aware that usually there are scientific papers on almost anything.
You may start for instance with http://www.jameshakewill.com/Lap_Time_Simulation.pdf
Then try to think about what such simulator shall do, what would be available inputs, whot shall be output, and what processing of input data could be needed.
Before it's clarified, there is no point to start excel work, as it probably will be useless, or at best: very basic and oversimplified.
