Multiple email addresses in one cell

    Hi

I thought I had already asked about this earlier today but it's not showing in my posts................I must have dreamt I did it

anyway I was wondering if there was a way of having two email addresses in one cell so that when you click on the cell it opens two new email windows, one for each of the different recipients, I know normally Excel only acts on the first hyperlink in a cell.

Think it might be a VBA code?

It is not quite correct to say that Excel only acts on the first hyperlink in a cell, because there can be only one hyperlink in a cell.

This can be done with VBA. What are you using as a separator between the email addresses? Can you give a small sample file with fake email addresses?

The paper clip icon does not work for attachments. Instead, under the text box where you type your reply click the Go Advanced button. On the next screen scroll down and click on Manage Attachments, which will show a pop-up window to Select and Upload a file. Then close the window.

    Hi

It's something I was thinking about at work. Rather than remembering there could be more than one email address It would save a lot of trouble when emails are forgot

The cell that contains the emails has been reduced in size so only a couple of characters are shown so it is not obvious how many emails should be sent

I did try a semi-colon in between email addresses but that did not work

What code have you got/tried already?

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Hi

I have made a mock up

ideally this is what I want to happen when I click on H4 (or any cell in column H with two email addresses)

(The new email windows are just pasted images)

Ok, I did ask for your code too, so I could adapt it. As it is, this just demonstrates the principle; you'll need to incorporate it into your code yourself

I don't believe he had any code. He was just clicking on the cell, which automatically creates a mailto: hyperlink when you enter an email address.

    Ah, maybe misunderstood this:
Think it might be a VBA code?

    Hi

Yeah no code just used the automatic "mailto" facility.

I tried the code from TMS and it brought up one new email window but with the second address as cc. This is great because I could try and tweak it to bcc instead of separate new email windows.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
