Hello,
I'm looking to host my own unofficial Pokemon VGC events that can range from 8-2048 players. Realistically I probably will struggle to get the 8, but if it goes then I'll need the spreadsheet to handle more volume of players. I found this chess spreadsheet that works fairly well https://www.excelforum.com/excel-pro...ournament.html, but I need more information than it is providing. I'll make a bullet point list of what I'm needing to see, and I'll also link a spreadsheet of what I've got working so far. My spreadsheet has everything working (through formulas) except I haven't figured out how I'm going to match up the players by records for any round after round 1.
- Players all randomly matched up round 1. Afterwards, they are matched based on their number of wins (i.e. a person that is 1-0 will play another person 1-0) and no two people should play each other.
- To help alleviate ties by Wins, each player will have a resistance. This resistance is first the average win% of all their opponents. The 2nd level will be the average win% of their opponents' opponents. After the resistance is taken in place, then there is the alphabetical ranking by last name, then first name.
- Each win is worth 3 points, each tie is worth 1, and each loss is worth 0 points.
- A single elimination Top Cut is created in every tournament. So, this will be the only exception in the rule of possibly playing someone again. The number of Players for Top Cut is dependent on the number of participants. That is listed on the spreadsheet I have attached.
I have a pretty detailed breakdown of how I want the spreadsheet to look as the final result on the "Standings" and "Round Pairings" sheets of my workbook. All other pages are open to interpretation through Macros or whatever else may be needed. I would also like Buttons that will automate the Macros to make things more appealing.
Please let me know if anything else is needed.
