Dear mate
i want to enter "ABSENT" text in the cell of subject marks. i mean
1.when i enter less than 50 marks. the cell color should be automatically changed
2.if i enter no marks in that cell then ABSENT should be entered automatically and there should not be any problem in obtained marks.

Home --> Conditional Formatting - -> New Rule
Usea formula to determine which cells to format
enter formula
=E8<50
Format
Fill --> select colour --> OK -->OK
Pl note
Array formula should be confirmed with Ctrl+Shift+Enter keys together.
If answere is satisfactory press * to add reputation.
Right click on sheet tab==>View Code==> copy/paste code above
