Copy and Paste from word does not wrap text and it locks the cells

So I have a protected worksheet. With certain cells which are not protected, they are unlocked.

the problem comes in when I copy and Paste from a word doc into a cell within excel

The cell is unlocked and is set to wrap text and to autofit row height.

However, when I copy and paste from MS Word it does not wrap the text and it locks the cells.

is there a way to fix this via macro or in another setting?

The easiest way is to paste the text into the formula bar instead of directly into the cell.

Or use 'Paste Text only' or 'Paste and Match Destination formatting' - you could add one/both to the Quick Access Toolbar if you want to do this a lot (see https://support.office.com/en-gb/art...D0EAABAAA=2007).
