Looking for a quick way to enter data.

I enter sales amount daily. In entering, I first find the row for the date needed, then I find the column that corresponds to the Customer # and finally, I enter the sales amount.
Is there a way to simplify this by highlighting or selecting the date row, enter the customer number and amount and excel will automatically enter the sales amount in the correct customer's column?

I appreciate any help that can be offered.
