cannot get pivot tables from VBA to refresh

Hello

I have three types of tables-standard tables that are generated via VBA, one is that derived from Power Query with that data, and three regular pivot tables that the power query table feeds (two different sheets)

if I am on the active sheet of the power query table and the pivot table, the refresh in the ribbon works fine for each of the sheets.

I have tried numerous incarnations of refresh code to refresh those tables after VBA generates the source tables and nothing works.

The data flow is as follows:

data entered into cells->VBA creates/updates multiple tables->power query connections to consolidate data->power query table->pivot tables

any tips would be appreciated.

I was surprised that OS X took different commands than PC with your last question. Here is all that I can find to answer your question. I'm not a Mac guy so this may not help..

thanks for this. FYI Im back to developing this workbook in Windows.

Ive tried most every VB code Ive seen in a google search for "pivot table refresh". I think there is a ghost in the machine I need to track down.

Hi,

What code are you actually using to Refresh? If you use RefreshAll you have no control over which order the various refreshes happen, or their timing. You should refresh the query table first, and then the pivots.
