    Hi good day. how can I get the computer name who open the excel file using vba. thank you.

    Yes, it will return the name of the computer on which the file with the code is open.

    It seems we were talking at cross-purposes. I said
    it will return the name of the computer on which the file with the code is open.
    It would appear from the post you originally made just now that you want the name of another computer on which the file is open, and not the one where the code is running. Further, I do not believe that your GetFileOwner function will work unless you pass the name of the temporary lock file created, and not the name of the original file.
