How to combine many rows into one on a separate sheet

    Good afternoon All,

I have a spreadsheet in which we are trying to obtain combined data. The data tab is to show the hours of use for different items and departments, this could have 10 rows for the same item on the same date but different departments. We need to then combine all rows onto the weekly forecast, there should be 1 row per item and the colour coding under the timings should identify which department was using this.

Is this possible? Sorry if I haven't explained it very well.

    Thanks

Re: How to combine many rows into one on a separate sheet

    1) Why is Item in the Daily Forecast have DRG in 7:00-8:00 yet the Data sheet has Item 1 assigned as 8:00-9:00 ?
Same goes for Item 2, the times in Daily don't match the entry times in the Daily Forecast sheet.
Item 2 doesn't even have an entry for 8:00-10:00 on the Daily Forecast sheet.

    2) How do we know what colours should be used?
    Regards

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Re: How to combine many rows into one on a separate sheet

Sorry Special-K, I forgot to remove the formulas. I was trying to do this using formulas but after searching google I found that it won't work. I have tried to attach a revised version with these removed but it isn't uploading for some reason. With regards to the colours, again, I was using conditional formatting as a test. This can be removed if needed.

    Thanks Katie
