Adding comma when typing!

i've asked this question in some excel forums.
i want to share this question with you to find some more possible answers.
Question :
Is there any way when i'm typing a number in a cell (the cell is active /Cursor is blinking) after every 3 digits (1000 separator) excel add a comma ? (NOT AFTER PRESSING ENTER!)
surely it needs a code!have you got any idea?

I think it can not be done.
Number in excel is also use for other type such as date, time and etc.
If this can be done, it will affect while you key in another type of number.
However, if you want to do it in another way, you may key-in in each column up to 3 numbers, then you may join it at another column.
more to the question...why would you need this?
no event (that i know of) triggers while your active in a cell

when i write the numbers specially big ones happening an error in inserting is likely! and it helps to check the numbers when i'm writing them...Originally Posted by humdingaling

You cannot do this while actively editing a cell...

No. You can only do this with a textbox control.
yes i know... i didn't start this post until i have finished the others i mean when i made sure that i won't have more answers i started this. Most answers were like your answers.!
