So we are moving over to excel 2013 and I found an issue when using excel in place in SAP (i.e. this is SAP creating a session of excel so that it can be used for data entry). The add-in menu that we use to control it does not display when they are open in SAP.
I am told this is because the 2013 version Microsoft changed it to a Single Document Interface (SDI) from the old MDI interface. It seems with the way SAP handles it - excel creates the menu but it is in "another session".
For what it is worth, Creating it in excel then opening SAP seems to work - but it isn't practical.
the effect is that we want to be able to open the sheet and have the menu appear and then when we close it the menu goes away.
is there an obvious solution? if not - what other options do I have to create such a menu?
or do I just have to create a userform for the menu?
