Private is not working consistently

I have workbook that contains a public macro, and on one of the spreadsheets within the workbook, there is a private macro. My private macro hides a wordart shape if the value of "F40" is not equal to 0, else the wordart should appear. At first the private macro works, however, when once I execute the public macro, the wordart does not work properly anymore. Will someone help me? Below is the Private and Public macros:
