Re: Web scraping help

Hello dvnr_76,

Your URL is on a secure server (https). Most likely you need to login to the server before you can access the page. Without seeing the page and knowing what you want from it, where the data will go, and how it is to be formatted, it is unlikely you will get an answer to your question.

You can login and save the Page Source as a text file and post that file here along with more details as I mentioned above. This will allow us to see the web page layout and help you further.
Sincerely,
Leith Ross

Remember To Do the Following....

1. Use code tags. Place
before the first line of code and
after the last line of code.
2. Thank those who have helped you by clicking the Star below the post.
3. Please mark your post [SOLVED] if it has been answered satisfactorily.

Re: Web scraping help

Hi dvnr_76,

I realized that web scraping via Excel VBA is very hard.

I've been learning how to do it too and I came to know Python.

Maybe you'd like to learn Python.

Since I am new to Python, I won't be able to give you any more information. But what I am currently using is Python with BeautfulSoup and/or Selennium

Re: Web scraping help

Dear Leith Ross,

Thanks for your suggestion. Though it is a secure webpage, no need to login to get the data. Any user can open this in IE and select the college code and branch he can get the students enrolled in that college in that branch. I want to automate this by downloading Students enrolled in all the colleges and branches in a excel file. https://apeamcet.nic.in/college_allotment.aspx
