This problem comes up again and again on forums but I have yet to find an elegant, simple and free solution.
I have created an AddIn that I use on my PC at work, my colleague also uses the AddIn on his PC, but when I enter a UDF on a sheet and save a file and he opens said file the UDF automatically inserts my AddIn Folder String for the AddIn - eg:
='C:\Users\Bob.TheBuilder\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AddIns\AddInName.xlam'!UserDefinedFunction(B3:B26)
How do I create a simple solution to this? I have tried creating a RegEntry for the AddIn with no success, I have looked for a free AddIn installer with no success and I have tried putting the actual AddIn file on a network drive and a generic drive (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14) with again no success! It seems like such a simple problem that should be easy to overcome but the only solutions I can find are proprietary software based.
Searching for that lightbulb moment for a few months now but yet to find it.
