Help: Linking a pivot table report filter to a data validation list in another sheet

Hi All,
On sheet 1 I have a pivot table full of data, and sheet 2, I have built a model that is sorted through a data validation list. When I change Sheet 2 (the data validation cell), I would like Sheet 1, the pivot table report filter to mirror the selection I made in Sheet 2.

To illustrate, sheet 2 has data validation list of team names, e.g. Manchester United, Chelsea etc.
When I select Manchester United in sheet 2, I want my pivot table on sheet 1 to automatically select Manchester United as well, and show me only the data for Manchester United.
I have been trying to figure this out for 3 days and still cannot get it to work!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could you please attach a sample file? If that isn';t possible, could you at least say which cell has the data validation list and what the name of the field in the pivot table is?

Unfortunately I cannot attach a sample file. The cell with the data validation list is B2. The name of the field of the pivot table is 'Team Name' (in cell B1)
