    Create a filter in excel

In column A I have something looking like this:

    541a (Project name)
    VAL (Heading 1)
    MAS (Heading 2)
    FIE (Heading 3)
    VEH (Heading 4)
    DUR (Heading 5)
    CRA (Heading 6)
    POW (Heading 7)
    OTH (Heading 8)
    LAU (Heading 9)
    MAN (Heading 10)
    COM (Heading 11)
    UPD (Heading 12)
    SUM (Heading 13)

    431b (Project name)
    VAL (Heading 1)
    MAS (Heading 2)
    FIE (Heading 3)
    VEH (Heading 4)
    DUR (Heading 5)
    CRA (Heading 6)
    POW (Heading 7)
    OTH (Heading 8)
    LAU (Heading 9)
    MAN (Heading 10)
    COM (Heading 11)
    UPD (Heading 12)
    SUM (Heading 13)

And it continues like this. The thing is that this is projectnames with 13 heading under the project name. I would like to have the possibility to sort projects in anyway. That means that the projects that getting filter out I want to hide the projectrow with the 13 following headings and one empty row. Is this possible in anyway?

The first projects always starts in A4 and then the next in A15, which means its always 15 row between every project. Thanks in advance.

The only way that I think you could do it is to insert a new column and repeat the Project Code for all 14 rows relating to that Project. You could also insert another column with a numeric heading number from 1 to 13. Alternatively, you could define a custom sort order for your headings. Either way would allow you to sort the headings within the Project Code. You'd also be able to use AutoFilter so that you could selectively view one or more Projects.

If you want a blank line after each Project, you'd probably need to enter the Project Code for that too; otherwise, if you sort the rows, all the blanks will be grouped together.

    How if using Group ?

Please Login or Register to view this content.
First, run Sub GroupCreate() (once only, don't run it again after first run), to create the group (or you can create the group manually).

Then run Sub GroupFilter() or Sub GroupUnFilter() as many time as wished.
