Allocating data from a multiple response field to individual response filelds

Explanation: I have an Excel file which has multiple town names separated by a comma in a single field. Other fields have other data which relates to that particular line of data in all the towns in which it operates, on that line. We want to look at what's happening in towns however which means creating a column for each town so that we can see all of the line items that are operating in Sydney, to name one 'town'. I was told that this was possible in Excel but my googling to date has not produced a result.

Any thoughts?
