Hi,
I have a function (see below) which converts a "number" to an alphacol ID.
For example: Number =1 then alphacol(1) = "A"
However, this function only works from 1 to 256................any idea on how to fix this or get a new function?

There are only 255 chr in ASCII, unless you are looking for something else.

As AB33 summised(Could you please attach a sample workbook....unless you are looking for something else.
Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

well, what i need is for example something that does the following:
Note: in current versions of excel one can have more than 256 cols of data
So what i need is if i submit alphacol(400) then i need the corresponding alpha-col from this. For example: if alphacol(3) = C
does this make sense?

Why do you need the column letter(s)? You can just use the column number to refer to a range...?
