Hi all,

I have the attached worksheet ('Start' tab), for which I'd like to sort the data based on "AltID" (column B) first, then "Score" (column D). I then want to have a "key" assigned in column E corresponding to its position in the sorted array. So, a simple 1, 2, 3, 4, within the alternative, until the next altID starts, then I want it to start all over at 1. At the end, I want it to look like the table on the 'End' tab.

I want to be able to use the data in column E, along with the table, to order some operations in vba. Is the sorting/assigning something I can do in the vba? I'm thinking you can, but I am drawing a blank and not coming up with the correct search words for google.
