    Dear All,

Please find the attched file.... There are two sheets What I want is people not allowed to change employee codes in "Attendance" sheet i.e. Employee code must be as per master sheet(which will be hidden).. If someone tries to change it the Msgbox "You cant change Emp code => and Undo.

Using Protect Sheet and enabling protection for locked cells not an option?

Why don't set the protection on those cells and protect the sheet. That way all other cells can be updated but not those ones.
Prior to applying the protection you can add a formula that looks up the Emp Code based on the name in column A.

Perhaps I'm missing the point, but have a look at the attached for what I mean.

Currently I am protecting the sheet and allowing users to edit attendance columns but it is quiet difficult them to handle protected file to add new emp etc... If they added new emp then again I have to protect those cells also...

Is there any way to allow users only to use only blank cells and no other cells??? And will automatically protect the filled cells after save???

Select the entire sheet and select Cell Properties.
    Under Protection UNCHECK "Locked".

Set up a VLOOKUP in column B to pull in Employee Code from your master sheet. Pull the formula down for as much as you need.
Select the entire Column B and Cell Properties again.
    Under Protection CHECK "Locked".

Set up Sheet Protection and click to allow users edit ONLY UNPROTECTED CELLS.
This will deny the editing of entire Column B, but the VLOOKUP formula you set up earlier will still work as long as a correct name is entered in Column A.

I've set it up as described in the example file, have a look, if that suits your needs.
