Hello,
I would like to create an excel file that pulls the date from another excel file.
Can you please tell me how can I create a macro that does so ?
Thank you
you dont need a macro, just embed the cell with the date from the other file as a formula.
=filename!a2
For example
In excel 1: I want to take the elements from column H to P in excel 2 and paste it from column C to J.
Your help is appreciated
Try this: (You can assign the 1 and 2 appropriately)
![]()

It looks like what we have here is a failure to communicate - but, yes, there are several ways - we just need to know the names of the books and sheets involved.
Are you pasting H:P to C:J or vice versa?
so I have 5 excel files:
Salary
Bonus
Travel
Leisure
Vacation
In these files, I only need column H to P
and I want to paste them into one excel file into column C to M
I want to avoid doing file by file because it will take me a while
Are those the book names and are all the sheets named sheet1?
any help will be appreciated
To explain further:
In my 5 excel files, I only need columns
C8
D8
H34-69
M34-69
N34-69
F34
G34
P34-69
S34-69
T34-69
I want to take these columns and paste them in columns A-J
Attach a couple of sample workbooks. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
