Saving Macros in Personal Workbook

I created several macros that I saved in the personal workbook. Usually when I open Excel the personal workbook opens automatically. Recently, though the personal workbook hasn't opened. I tried to re-record the macros, but it won't let me unless the personal workbook is open. I can't seem to locate this personal workbook anywhere. Has anyone else run into this or know how solve it? These macros save tons of time and I need to figure out how to use them again.
